Shredding Cheese

If you have ever made the mistake of attempting to shred or cut soft cheese straight for the fridge, you know what a trial that can be. To ease the shredding/cutting of all cheeses, place them in the freezer for fifteen-twenty minutes and your job will be made much easier. This works well for not only hand shredding, but also for the food processor and using the attachment of your handy dandy stand mixer.

Great tip! I had never heard of doing that before, but it makes sense. I (sigh, complain, grumble) am off cheese right now (how sad can life be *wink*), but hopefully I will be able to add it back in soon.

oh my gosh. that is the most brilliant thing I have ever heard! I LOVE goat cheese...do you think that would work for goat cheese? or do you think it would just crumble...

Kimi- You poor thing! :o( Before I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I was put on a no dairy diet and that was quite the struggle to stick to. I hope your life can become cheesy again soon! :o)

Sammy- I have never tried this with goat cheese, but am sure it could work with any sort of cheese.

If you ever stop in at Whole Foods to try their nut butters, you also must add some Sweet Grass Dairy cheese to your cart. ;o) This dairy is located in South GA and they make the most delicious cheese from their grassfed cow & goat milks. Their Pecan Chevre is wonderful, as is their ooey gooey Greenhill (cow milk). Sheesh, I better stop trying to make you part with your money before you refuse to comment here/allow my comments on your blog. LOL. :P

That makes so much sense! Why didn't I think of that?! ;) Cheese makes everything better, doesn't it?
